Mercedes has tested on Tuesday and Wednesday at Silverstone and Ferrari will also be in action soon. That's not all, because Racing Point has now also announced that they will go on track and they will do so on Wednesday 17 June. This because of a 'filming day', where they still owe one of them.

Promotional activities

All Formula 1 teams are entitled, according to the regulations, to two days of driving with the new car outside the season and the test days. This for promotional purposes and Racing Point has already used one of those two days earlier this year in Barcelona. They will now use the second day at Silverstone with Lance Stroll behind the wheel.

The team will be allowed to drive a maximum of 100 kilometres that day and they will receive demo tyres from the regular supplier Pirelli. By the way, teams can also choose to use older cars - which Mercedes has done - and the distance that can be driven then is unlimited.

After this 'filming day' at Silverstone, Racing Point will also have to wait until July 5, when their new car will officially be in action at competition level during the Austrian Grand Prix.
