The Formula 1 season of 2020 is about to start with the Austrian Grand Prix and there is one man who is still seen as the big favourite for the win: Lewis Hamilton. Former Formula 1 driver Mark Webber looks ahead to the season start at the Red Bull Ring.

Hamilton on for number 7

"Lewis is still at the top. He doesn't make many mistakes, he is fast, self-critical and knows how to get results under all circumstances. Whether it's rain, wind or high temperatures, Lewis always knows how to get it done in a qualifying session or a race'', says Webber in the podcast At The Controls.

''Lewis is far from finished and it is clear that he is the favorite for this season as well. If Mercedes gives him a car with which he can compete from the start, he will prove it again. Austria is a tricky circuit to start with, as Mercedes doesn't perform really well  there''.

The experience

Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc, Sebastian Vettel and Valtteri Bottas will all be mentioned in the fight for the title, but Hamilton has a great advantage over three of its four competitors: Experience. And where he doesn't have that advantage with Vettel, Hamilton has shown many times to be able to beat Vettel in the battle for the title.

''I often talked about this with Niki Lauda, who had a big impact on Lewis. You can see it in great athletes, as with Michael Jordan, that they are constantly fighting with themselves. As long as Lewis finds that motivation to get more out of himself, he can stay at the top and win titles for years to come," concludes Webber.
