It's clear that Mattia Binotto had a lot of trouble keeping his drivers in check last season. According to former F1-driver Jean Alesi it will be a lot easier for the newcomer Carlos Sainz.

The Silly Season started early this year, with the announcement that Sebastian Vettel will no longer drive for Ferrari from 2021 onwards. It wasn't long before the Maranello team announced who will follow in his footsteps: Carlos Sainz, who showed his driving skills at McLaren in 2019.

Jean Alesi is pleased with the appointment of the young Spaniard. "They now have two young, very professional drivers. From what I understand Carlos is working very hard and he has a lot of experience at McLaren and Renault. He comes from two teams that have a lot of experience training drivers", the Frenchman explains to Sky Sports F1.

No more incidents for Ferrari

A big problem for Ferrari in the past season, were the fights between Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel. For example, the incident during the Brazilian Grand Prix cost the team many points and Russia was also a painful race for the team. With Sainz at Ferrari it will be a different story according to Alesi.

"It will be easier for Ferrari to keep these two drivers under control. When you have a world champion in your team, who is very charismatic, it is difficult to form him to the wishes of the team", concludes the former Ferrari driver.
