Daniel Ricciardo will be the new teammate of Lando Norris at McLaren from 2021. The young Briton will then have had two years in Formula 1 and will face a race winner with Ricciardo. An advantage, Zak Brown thinks.

"We wanted to get Danny earlier, but then he left for Renault. I've been a fan of Daniel's for years. He is super aggressive on the track and is not afraid to take on good drivers. Hopefully we can give him a car he can fight with, but in 2021 it's going to be difficult because of the same regulations'', says Brown in conversation with Fox Sports.

Norris versus Ricciardo

The duel with Norris promises to be an exciting one. In his first year in Formula 1, Norris already managed to impress Carlos Sainz with a lot of resistance and even managed to be faster several times in qualifying. With his victories Ricciardo is just a bit higher than Sainz and is therefore a good test for the Brit.

''I think it will help Lando to have a clear benchmark to aim for. We know Daniel can get everything out of his car and that's a good example for Lando. We are a team that has always had winners in the cars and I feel that Ricciardo will play an important role in bringing us back to the top'', concludes Brown.
