Lewis Hamilton is very socially involved and shares his ideas frequently with his followers. The Mercedes driver is sometimes criticised for that, but he doesn't lie awake to it. According to Hamilton, negative reactions are inevitable.

"Sometimes I have trouble with social media," Hamilton is quoted by Speedweek.com. The six-time world champion acknowledges that he doesn't always like that everyone knows what he's doing. "I never expected so many people to follow me in my life. But in general, you just notice it when you look around you - a lot of people just look at their mobile phones all the time, they forget the rest of the world. They no longer take the time to enjoy a sunset or look at a beautiful tree."

Hamilton mainly posts messages on his social media accounts that are important to him. It's about things like food, attention to animal life or the environment. The British rider also came in for criticism, because not all his followers were interested in that matter.

Hamilton is not going to change

The 35-year old driver takes the less positive reactions for granted. "Negative reactions are inevitable, but you don't have to be perfect to be part of the solution. As a powerful language within my industry, I have a duty to inspire change within F1 and in other areas where I'm active," said Hamilton, who certainly has no intention of changing. "It is important to be true to yourself and to strive for transparency. You have to be honest with yourself and with other people".
