The Formula 1 calendar is far from certain for the time being. The king's class of motorsport wants to start in Austria, but which Grands Prix is planned after that is still uncertain. However, this gives options for other circuits.

For example, the Hockenheimring has already shown that it would like to return to the 2020 calendar, now that Formula 1 really needs the circuits. For example, the circuit of Zandvoort cannot be used until 1 September and that applies to more countries. Formula 1 will keep the options open and more circuits will try to use them.

Mugello as a replacement?

The MotoGP circuit of Mugello does want to jump in as a possible replacement for the Italian Grand Prix. The region of Lombardy where Monza is to be found is perhaps the hardest hit and will therefore need time to organise another race. In Mugello, Tuscany, people are already looking with a skewed eye at the possibility of organizing a race themselves.

''Mugello has everything to organize a race instead of Monza. If the situation in Lombardy doesn't improve, it might not be responsible to start racing there. We don't know if the opportunity will arise, but we have to be ready for that one percent chance as well'', said mayor of the nearby town of Scarperia e San Piero opposite La Gazzetta dello Sport.
