Sebastian Vettel leaves Ferrari at the end of 2020. It has been hanging in the air for a while, but still the news comes as thunder in clear skies for many. According to Vettel, however, it is the best decision.

"The collaboration with Scuderia Ferrari will end at the end of 2020. In order to achieve the best possible results in this sport, it is vital for all parties to work in perfect harmony. The team and I have realized that there is no common desire to stay together after the end of this season. Financial matters have not played a role in this joint decision. I don't think that way when it comes to making certain choices and that will never happen,'' Vettel says in the statement on the website.

Coronavirus gave time to think

''What has happened in recent months has led many of us to think about what our real priorities in life are. One has to use one's imagination and take a new approach to a situation that has changed. I myself will take the time to think about what is really important when it comes to my future''.

''Ferrari takes a special place in Formula 1 and I hope it gets all the success it deserves. Finally, I would like to thank the whole Ferrari family and especially its "tifosi" around the world for the support they have given me over the years. My immediate goal is to finish my long stint with Ferrari, hoping to share together some more beautiful moments, to add to all those we have enjoyed so far", concludes Vettel.
