The FIA, the FOM and Liberty Media are working hard for the start of the 2020 season of Formula 1. If everything goes according to plan, the Austrian Grand Prix will take place July 5th. The lessons learned will be shared with other racing classes to give them the opportunity to start again as soon as possible.

That's what Jean Todt says on the FIA website. The president of the International Motorsport Association hopes that racing classes can all be started or resumed in 2020. "We want to organise those championships again as soon as possible, but in doing so we will protect the health of everyone involved. This will be done on the basis of instructions issued by the safety authorities."

How racing should deal with corona measures

For these racing classes, it is beneficial that Formula 1 will start at the beginning of July, so that we can learn from what is and what is not possible and how things should be done. Todt will share this crucial information with the FIA members about the measures concerning the coronavirus.

"We have the opportunity to share what we have learned and what processes have been used to engage in motor racing during the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus. Our goal is to be able to (re)start all competitions as soon as possible," said the 74-year-old Frenchman.
