Most Formula 1 drivers are currently in sim racing. In this way, drivers hope to maintain their racing qualities while having some fun. However, this is not for everyone.

Nothing with sim racing

So Kevin Magnussen doesn't need sim racing at all. The Dane, just like any other driver, is currently on the sidelines for a while, but that doesn't give him any reason to suddenly take the simulator off his back. According to Haas' driver it has no added value at all and he'd better do something else.

''I don't think you can get as much out of it as you can on the track. Of course there are things you can compare, but the difference is just too big and it doesn't look like the simulators from the factory either. And even for those simulators, the step to reality is very big'', says Magnussen to the Danish BT.

Rather on the kart track

''I've been to the factory a couple of times to sit in the simulator for a couple of hours, but then I have to go outside to get some air. My dad does have a simulator in his living room and sometimes we race each other, but just for fun, because I've never really loved it''.

Meanwhile, Magnussen prefers to do something else. "It's not that I don't care, but I'd rather race outside. When I get back to Denmark, I'm going to start karting again. In my opinion that's much better than a simulator and I think it's much more fun myself'', concludes Magnussen.
