At the winter tests in Barcelona, Mercedes again seemed to be the team to beat. Both Hamilton and Bottas were blood-fast and the engineers were impressed with the innovative DAS system. Red Bull Racing followed seemingly from a distance as 'best of the rest'. However, according to Ralf Schumacher this could indeed only be an illusion.

Schumacher cites the speed of Red Bull Racing and Honda when Bild asks him if Hamilton will match his brother Michael's record by becoming world champion for the seventh time this year. Ralf first makes the logical comment that it is questionable whether there will be racing at all in 2020, but that is not the only thing that stands in the way of a seventh title for Hamilton.

"I wouldn't underestimate Red Bull Racing this year because Honda has invested a lot this winter. There are several surprises waiting for us this season," concluded the six-time Grand Prix winner. According to the German, if Hamilton could do it, he absolutely deserved it. "He's a unique driver in a unique car."

Williams with a RB17?

Finally, he shines his light on the fate of the team with which he achieved his greatest successes. Williams has been riding behind without a chance the last couple of years and a recent idea of Christian Horner would help the team according to Schumacher.

Horner suggested making customer cars available so that the small teams could get through this difficult period with a competitive car. "A team like Williams would make a big step if they would just buy a Red Bull," says Schumacher.
