Formula 1 is already planning to start the season in July at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. It would be possible that two races will take place at the same time and that seems to be slowly but surely becoming a reality. Especially now that Helmut Marko of Red Bull Racing has confirmed that it is almost a done deal.

Two weekends

Against the Austrian radio station Ö3 Helmut Marko has indicated that there will be two races and that in two weekends. It will be a race on Sunday 5 July and a race on Sunday 12 July, Marko tells the radio station. The races will both be held without an audience.

Everything would be as good as fixed, but the plans can be revised if a second corona wave occurs in the meantime. If that is not the case, the season will almost certainly start in Austria. However, both races will come with different conditions.

Fans are not welcome and journalists are not allowed either. The aim is to keep the number of people present as low as possible. In addition, all persons travelling to Spielberg must have been tested negative for corona beforehand.

Furthermore, Marko has indicated that more races will follow after the two races in Austria. At the moment "talks are being held with other organizers". For the time being, Silverstone is seen as the second location.
