Sir Stirling Moss never managed to win a world title in Formula 1, but that doesn't alter the fact that he left an indelible impression on the motorsport world. This is well reflected in the reactions to his death.

With eleven seasons in Formula 1, Stirling Moss showed his enormous talent and class at the highest level of motorsport. With sixteen Grands Prix to his name and four second places, the British driver was seen as one of the best drivers of his time.

During his career in F1, Moss joined Mercedes in 1954 and was soon able to join the team. Even after ending his racing career, Stirling Moss often visited the team to share his knowledge. Mercedes will miss this impressive driver.

Drivers of all generations have been touched by the loss of their former colleague and friend. For example, Martin Brundle notes how Moss survived the most dangerous period in Formula 1 and has now peacefully left life in his bed.

Other big names in the motorsport world have also been saddened by the death of Stirling Moss. Zak Brown calls the driver a great ambassador for British and international motorsport and according to FIA President Jean Todt, Moss was a true legend.
