Now that Formula 1 drivers can't drive for a while at the moment, the question is how we can continue, right? What will the calendar look like for example? Dutch F1 commentator Olav Mol has an idea about that.

Mol sends a letter

''I have a small confession'', Mol starts during the podcast F1 aan Tafel of Grand Prix Radio. ''Friday evening I sent an email to the Formula One Management (FOM) with what I think they can do best. For the most part I agree with Martin Brundle'', says the reporter of Ziggo Sport.

''You should start in Silverstone, of course. That's where most of the teams are, so limit travel as much as possible. You then only have to think about your calendar logistically in order to limit travel. After Silverstone you can go to the Netherlands and then to Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, Hungary and Austria'', says Mol.

The new calendar

''This way you stretch the calendar as much as possible and you don't have to fly all over the world early. The east, say America, you can then move a little further away, but everything will also have to 'back to back'. You then have a 'back to back' week, one week nothing and then again by'', according to Olav, who indicates that he has added that F1 should do with it what they want, but that solutions are sometimes easier than they seem.

Just assuming that the Grand Prix of England can indeed be used already start of the season, the calendar, with the ideas of Olav, could look like this:

July 19: Grand Prix of Great Britain

July 26th: Grand Prix of the Netherlands

August 9th: Grand Prix of Belgium

August 16: Grand Prix of France

August 30th: Grand Prix of Spain

September 6th: Grand Prix of Italy

September 20th: Grand Prix of Hungary

September 27th: Grand Prix of Austria

October 11th: Azerbaijan Grand Prix

October 18th: Grand Prix of Russia

November 1st: Grand Prix of China

November 8th: Grand Prix of Japan

November 22nd: Grand Prix of the United States

November 29th: Grand Prix of Mexico

December 6th: Grand Prix of Brazil

January 10th: Grand Prix of Bahrain

January 17th: Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi
