F1 season start possibly even later by Coronavirus: ''Canada pulls out''.
- GPblog.com
The Azerbaijan Grand Prix seems almost certainly postponed and all Formula 1 fans are eagerly looking forward to the start of the season in Canada, but the race in Montreal could not go ahead either...
Team Canada (from Toronto) has announced that it will not send athletes to the 2020 Olympic Games that are to be held in Japan from July 24th. There are already several sports federations that have expressed their concerns about the Olympic Games, but Canada is the first country to actually withdraw.
F1 season starts even later
However, the country's withdrawal of its athletes is a big step and since the event does not take place until the end of July, there are some big question marks behind the Canadian Grand Prix, which is set on June the 14th. Does Canada want to organize a big event in its own country or will it be cancelled in the short term?
In case the Canadian Grand Prix is postponed as well, the earliest possible start of the season in Formula 1 in France will be on June 28th. Not exactly the spectacular circuit where you want to start the season, but F1 seems to have little choice at the moment.
