Vietnam Grand Prix organisers respond to F1's postponement
The inaugural Vietnam Grand Prix has been postponed. Following the announcement, the organisers for the event have responded. First and foremost, they wish the very best for anyone currently affected by Coronavirus. They're hoping to agree to a new date as soon as possible.
The Vietnam Grand Prix joins races in Australia, Bahrain and China to have an alteration because of the coronavirus outbreak. The race in Hanoi was due to take place on April 5, but this is now likely to be shifted to the end of the calendar.
"The decision to postpone the race, which is scheduled to run from April 3-5, comes after extensive consideration of the ongoing and evolving coronavirus situation, as well as the recent WHO statement that the outbreak is a global pandemic ”Is stated in the statement of the VGPC," the statement reads.
"It also follows advice from all relevant authorities, whose collective care is the health and well-being of Vietnamese people and traveling Formula 1 fans, staff and participants."
