Carey disagrees with Hamilton: "Situation changed hourly"
Liberty Media owner Chase Carey disagrees with Lewis Hamilton. The six-time world champion said that "money is king" in Formula 1 as they waited until the final hour before cancelling the Australian Grand Prix weekend. However, Carey has hit back saying this is not the case.
"If money had been king, we would have made the decision to let the race go through as planned. As the situation changed from hour to hour in some days, we continued to evaluate and make the right decisions," Carey told reporters.
"We tried to process a lot of different information to make the right decision at the right time and I think we did," Carey continued.
