McLaren thankful for "solidarity and support" after Australian GP withdrawal

McLaren F1 team have thanked their fans and partner for “solidarity and support” following the announcement of their withdrawal from the Australian Grand Prix after one of its team members tested positive for coronavirus.
The Woking-based team announced Thursday that they had withdrawn from the race in Melbourne after one of its team members had tested positive for coronavirus after spending time in isolation having showed early symptoms.
Haas F1 also had four team members tested for the disease which came back negative.
McLaren’s decision has put a large amount of debate on the Australian GP with it set to be postponed but an official announcement from F1 and the FIA is yet to be made.
One of their sponsors, Estrella Galicia 0,0, stated their support on Twitter for the teams decision, saying: “As a team we are proud of McLaren for making the right decision.” And using the hashtag #TogetherWeStand.
McLaren responded, thanking their fans and partners for the support they have received: “Thanking our fans and partners for their continued show of solidarity and support.” Also using the hashtag #TogetherWeStand.
