Ricciardo looking to make amends at the Australian Grand Prix
Daniel Ricciardo's 2019 Australian Grand Prix was memorable for all the wrong reasons but he's looking forward to getting the season underway in Melbourne. Ricciardo is looking forward to spending some time with his friends and family in his home country.
Ricciardo's 2019 season opener was over before it had really began as he was forced onto the grass almost immediately after lights out. He lost his front wing and despite making it back to the pitlane the damage was too much to overcome.
The Renault driver is hoping to make amends at the race at Albert Park.
“It is always special to race in Australia," Ricciardo said.
"I am away a lot all year round so that's why it's nice to spend more time with friends and family.
"The fans in Australia are great and I use their support as extra motivation. I have not always driven the best races in Australia so it has to change. I want a good weekend for me and for Renault."
Ricciardo will be joined by Esteban Ocon this season as Renault look to fight back in the midfield battle.
