Guenther Steiner: "Haas have learnt their lesson"
Haas had a dreadful 2019 season and will hope that they have done enough over the winter to work out what was wrong with their car and fix it. Team leader, Guenther Steiner, knows that things need to change and has said that the team are taking a different approach this season.
“We are not going to make mistakes like last season," Steiner told Autosport.com.
"We are taking a different approach this season," Steiner said. “Errors can still be made. But I think if I said we didn't learn our lesson and are stupid like last year, it wouldn't make me feel great. Then I would say, "No, I ignore everything I learned last year, I keep going down like we did last year." We have learned our lesson. We are humble and we will try to be like two years ago."
Haas finished the 2019 season 9th in the constructor's championship and this caused tensions within the team to rise.
"A driver is of course never happy," said Steiner. “Especially when you think of what happened to us last year, we were very happy with the result that started before 2019 and then it turned out not to be good. Everyone is very careful. We have changed our pattern this season."
It will be interesting to see how different Haas' approach is and if it means they will suddenly jump back up the grid.
