Horner: “Some of the problems we had with the RB15 have been solved”

Red Bull boss Christian Horner has said that some of the weaknesses they encountered with the RB15 last year “have been solved” according to his driver Max Verstappen and Alex Albon.
For 2019 Red Bull entered a new era of their time Formula 1 after dropping Renault as engine supplier, switching to Honda who had provided for Toro Rosso (now Alpha Tauri) in 2018.
But the energy drinks team started off the year slow before Verstappen went on to win in Austria, Germany and Brazil and finish third in the championship.
This year though Horner is adamant their previous weaknesses have been solved for the RB16, despite running into issues with a suspension issue Wednesday.
"I am very satisfied with last week in any case," Horner said. "This morning we unfortunately lost some time to drive due to problems with the suspension.
“The afternoon was difficult because of the wind. But Verstappen and Albon do say that some of the problems we had with the RB15 have been solved in the new car."
This time last year Ferrari were the dominant force in testing, only for Mercedes to win the first race in Melbourne.
The Silver Arrows lead the way so far in 2020 but Horner says nothing can be taken away from testing for who is the favourite.
"You don't know anything for sure after the winter test," he added. "You could tell that from Ferrari last year. Even after Melbourne you're not sure where you stand.
That takes two or three races. Mercedes seems to be the fastest. The most important test days are only coming up now."
