2019 vs 2020 - Russell tops 2019 Spanish GP qualifying time on day 1 of testing
2019 was a miserable season for Williams but they are showing signs of improvement as George Russell beat his qualifying time from the Spanish Grand Prix on day one of testing at the Circuit de Catalunya.
A year to forget
Last season was one to remember for all the wrong reasons for Williams as they only scored one point all season, Robert Kubica's P10 at the German Grand Prix. Despite their struggles, Russell showed signs of promise even if he did fail to score a single point in his debut season.
Unlike last year the constructor arrived on time to testing in Spain at the Circuit de Catalunya which is sure to stand them in better stead than it did last year. Russell has stayed on at Williams, whilst Kubica departed, replaced by Nicholas Latifi. Although the jury is still out on the Canadian it looks as if Williams might be starting to turn the corner.
2019 VS 2020
George Russell has already exceeded his qualifying standard from last year's Spanish Grand Prix and it is only day two of testing. His time of 1:18.168 beat his time of 1:19.072 from last year's qualifying session.
