Ferrari CEO emphasizes: "We know that Sebastian and Charles will be loyal"
The Ferrari CEO was at the presentation of their new Formula 1 car. Louis Camilleri spoke before the unveiling of the SF1000 and mentioned the future of the team. He had words of praise for Mattia Binotto, Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc despite a troubled debut season as a trio.
Ferrari and other teams face a great challenge
Camilleri starts his speech in the theatre of Reggio Emilia by immediately putting the 2020 season in perspective. The car that was unveiled shortly thereafter may be important in the short term, but that is not what he is most concerned with.
“It's going to be an interesting and long season, but it's also an important year because we have to develop a completely new car for 2021 at the same time. So the team will be very busy."
Praise for Binotto, Vettel and Leclerc
“I think Mattia and his team are doing a great job and we look forward to the successes in the future. We don't just look at this season or the next race. Time is our enemy. We spend days, weeks, months winning only tenths or hundredths of a second."
“That is why we focus mainly on the long term and that is exactly what Mattia is doing. I have a lot of respect for his skills as a leader and the way in which he imparts the team spirit. That creates a culture that will make us stronger and more successful."
“Then, of course, we have Sebastian [Vettel] and Charles [Leclerc] that we count on. It will be their second season together and apart from their incredible talent, we know that they share a passion for Ferrari and will be loyal."
