Mercedes have added a splash of red to their livery for the 2020 Formula 1 season. The team revealed how their challenger will look by putting the colour scheme on their 2019 car, ahead of the actual 2020 car reveal on Friday.
During the presentation, Toto Wolff was asked to detail the latest developments in Lewis Hamilton's contract talks. According to the Mercedes boss, the two haven't been in contact with each other through the winter break.
The latest
"We travel around the world for almost 10 months every year and get on each other's nerves every other weekend. What we do over winter is that we leave each other in peace. The last conversation I had with him was on the evening before the Christmas party," Wolff said.
"We had a nice chat saying that we would continue our discussion once he comes back from America and we properly kick-off the season. I have great belief in the ability of the team to attract the best driver and at the moment Lewis has proven he is the best driver on the current grid with his six titles. In the medium and long-term, I would hope that we are able to continue to provide technology to the best driver and attract them."
Following the conclusion of the 2019 season, Hamilton spoke publically about how fresh and ready he feels. He also seems to be impressed and excited by the challenge the rule and regulation changes throw-up in 2021.
It looks likely that Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc will have to challenge the older generation's leader for a little longer.
