Ferrari will do its best to get rid of the 'orange tone' with new livery
The colour orange is nowadays very popular in the world of Formula 1. Max Verstappen and Mclaren of course mainly contribute to this, but according to many the Ferrari was also rather orange last year. This will probably change in 2020.
When Ferrari presented a car for the first time last year without a high gloss, but with a matte finish, many people felt that the manufacturer had opted for a too bright red colour. As a result, the SF90 almost got an orange glow in a certain light.
Although Ferrari used this colour more often in their time with main sponsor Marlboro, Italy has long wished the team to return to the dark red with which the Scuderia grew up in the past.
Back to the 80s
It now appears that this will happen in 2020. According to the Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera, the matte paint is retained for weight reduction, but a darker red colour is chosen. This colour would be comparable to the colours that the team used in the 1980s.
In addition, some details of the car with which Gilles Villeneuve, among others, would return, would return. One of them is the design of the start numbers that will be large and white, framed with another white border.
