Ghiotto and Mazepin confirmed for F2 debutants Hitech
Luca Ghiotto and Nikita Mazepin will drive for the new Hitech GP team in Formula 2 this year. Ghiotto finished third for UNI-Virtuosi in 2019 in what was set to be his final year in the series, but he will combine F2 with his commitments in GT cars.
Mazepin partnered eventual championship winner Nyck de Vries at ART Grand PRix, but struggled to finish P18 in the standings despite improving as the year went on.
Hitech came second to Prema in Formula 3 in 2019 and have made the move up to F2 to become the 11th team in the series.
Team principal Oliver Oakes said: "As we embark on our first season in Formula 2 we were keen to secure the services of two drivers with experience and in both Luca and Nikita I feel we have a line-up which will not only allow us to get quickly up to speed with the new car, but also to fight at the front from the offset."
