McLaren announces Splunk as their new technology partner
McLaren performed incredibly well 2019 and finished 'best of the rest' in the constructors' championship. With two talented drivers behind the wheel, Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz, the team is on the rise again and has been able to attract new sponsors. Today they have announced a new sponsor. Splunk.
Data analysis
Splunk is a company that focuses on data analysis and is seen as a world leader in their field. By joining forces, Splunk will become McLaren's official technology partner.
The collaboration also sees Splunk's logos feature on the car. The sponsor on the MCL35 will feature on the cockpit and on the sidepods. McLaren CEO Zak Brown is happy with this partnership and has said: "It's great to bind Splunk to us as a technology partner.
"Data is at the core of everything we do at McLaren and in the competitive sport of Fomule 1, the Splunk platform will give us useful insight into the data that we can use to improve performance."
Long term plans?
It is not clear how long Splunk and McLaren will work together, but it seems that the two companies have a contract for several years. Brown concludes: "We look forward to working together as partners in the 2020 season and beyond" implying a longer collaboration but the team has not provided details.
