Formula 1 | Five predictions ahead of the 2020 season
Formula 1 fans are counting down the days until the 2020 season starts and with only a few more weeks to wait until winter testing, it won't be long until the sport is back on the telly. Here are five things we can expect from the 2020 season.
Mercedes will be dominant once again
The German team have dominated the sport since the start of the hybrid era and it is very difficult to see this change in 2020. With Lewis Hamilton winning his sixth driver's championship with ease last time out, you would have to be foolish to bet against him doing the same this season.
The team have an innate ability to win and it would be a real shock if anyone can genuinely challenge them this year.

Honda will continue to improve
One of the highlights from last season was seeing Honda come into the picture as a top engine supplier. The Japanese team partnered well with Red Bull Racing and Toro Rosso and featured on the podium and won races. However, they are not happy yet.
Honda has been developing at a rate faster than a Max Verstappen qualifying lap and are ready to push on again this year. They have increased the reliability and power of their engine and will hope that it will be enough to power Red Bull to the top of the grid.
Charles Leclerc will cement himself as number one at Ferrari
At the start of last season, Charles Leclerc was told that he was the number two driver at the team. He went on to prove that Ferrari made the wrong decision and will be looking to prove that he is better than Sebastian Vettel.
Many believe that the young Monegasque has already proved himself and that 2020 will his chance to really stamp his authority and show that he is the future of the team in red.
The Dutch Grand Prix will be one to remember
There are two new Grand Prix's in 2020 with a Vietnam Grand Prix and a Dutch Grand Prix both being added to the calendar. The Dutch fans love Formula 1 and travel to all of the races in support of Verstappen. There is often a sea of orange and they are incredibly passionate about the sport and enjoying themselves.
Hosting a Grand Prix in their country will be spectacular and the fans will take it up another level. It will be immense.
McLaren will be even more competitive
McLaren really dragged themselves from the brink of despair after a dreadful 2018 season and managed to finish the 2019 season 4th in the constructor's championship. With Andreas Seidl at the helm of the team they look really strong and are one of the most united teams on the grid.
They will definitely improve in 2020 and will be looking forward to being driven by a Mercedes engine in 2021.
