F1 Teams refuse to make a photo of all new cars and drivers together
Liberty Media want to do a photo with all the 2020 Formula 1 drivers and their cars to mark the start of the decade. However, this plan was not approved by all of the years ahead of the winter testing according to RaceFans.
A unique photo
An iconic photo was taken at the start of the 2010 Formula 1 season. All new cars were rolled out at the Bahrain circuit, where the first race of the new decade was held. The drivers of that season took their place by the side of their cars.
Prior to the 2020 season, Liberty Media would like to shoot a photo of the new cars and drivers, but the teams don't want that according to Racefans.net. The teams only have to prepare the car for a photo, and then roll it back and prepare it for the first test. Most teams have rejected that. This year there will be less testing days due to the extra race on the schedule.
Not ready or not wanted?
In addition, a lot of teams may not even be ready on time. Haas and Alfa Romeo, for example, are due to reveal their car on the first day of testing, so the question is whether that car can appear at the photo opportunity.
There's a chance that Liberty Media could ask the question again when the teams arrive in Melbourne for the first race. But maybe it's because teams refuse to be present in a detailed picture of the new car.
