It was announced yesterday that Max Verstappen will continue racing for Red Bull Racing until at least 2023. The Dutch driver is one of the most talented on the grid and other teams would have been prepared to pay big money to try and attract him. It is therefore believed that Red Bull Racing have paid big money for Verstappen and they will hope that he is worth the investment.

According to the Italian branch of Motorsport.com, Verstappen's new contract is worth 40 million euros per season and Red Bull obviously believe that their driver has the ability to go on and win world championships in their car.

Jos Verstappen and manager Raymond Vermeulen negotiated a strong deal for the younger Verstappen and it is unusual for a driver without a world championship attached to their name to be earning so much.

It is believed that Honda are making a contribution to Verstappen's salary, confirming that Red Bull and Honda's relationship is strong and that the Japanese company may remain in the sport for at least the next four years.

Red Bull and Honda have invested in the future. Now they are left with the task of producing a championship-winning car and engine to match their driver. The future is looking good for the team.
