Helmut Marko believes the talks between Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari President John Elkann is a clear signal of doing business and weighing options. According to the Aston Martin Red Bull Racing team advisor, nothing is left to chance.

A statement from the New Year's review of Motorsport-Total.com reads: “The Hamilton meeting with John Elkann is part of the card game. He and Toto Wolff want to cause as many problems as possible with Ferrari that way."

The Austrian cannot agree with that theory. He believes a meeting with the top of Ferrari is significant. In conversation with the outlet, he says the following about this: “No, I don't think so. It is about new contracts. When Lewis (Hamilton) enters into a discussion with the Ferrari summit, that also counts in financial negotiations," says Marko.

Marko sees it as a political move, whereby the 'Ferrari' scenario is not excluded in 2021: “This is political in F1, everything is considered at the highest level,” said the team adviser.
