Valtteri Bottas has just completed another positive season which saw him finish in second in the drivers' championship behind Lewis Hamilton, but the Finn believes that he isn't too far away from competing with the six-time world champion for the title.

With the likes of Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc coming through, it is becoming even more challenging to stay at the front of the grid, but this is something Bottas is looking to do.

"In my opinion, the competition is only getting tougher between the three top teams," Bottas told Motorsport.com.

"Of course it is always difficult to beat Lewis, but that also means that I have to beat the other drivers

"But I know that I have the speed and skill in me so I don't think I have to create miracles. I have to coordinate everything and become Bottas 2.77, so to speak."

The 30-year-old made his F1 debut in 2013 and has since gone onto win seven races in his 139 race starts.
