Marko sees Vettel problem: "He learned that at Red Bull"
Helmut Marko is one person in the Formula 1 paddock that knows Sebastian Vettel inside out. The four-time world champion didn't have it easy during the 2019 F1 season and Aston Martin Red Bull Racing advisor takes an in-depth look at the German's season.
Marko gets given a statement: 'Vettel is no longer one of the three best drivers in Formula 1 and Leclerc controls the psychological game better' which was given to him by Motorsport-Total.com.
The 76-year-old Austrian believes that public opinion should not run too fast. "You can't write it off yet, although it might have come as a surprise that Leclerc was immediately so fast at Ferrari."
If there is a team in Formula 1 where politics is involved, then it is Ferrari. Marko agrees with the German news website. "Ferrari is very famous for that and Sebastian is probably too honest at times. At Red Bull, he learned to say what it says on it."
Marko knows that in 2018 and 2019, Vettel did not have his best years in the royal class of motorsport. "But again, I don't want to write it off yet," he concludes.
