Sainz had "good feelings" when he moved to McLaren

Carlos Sainz joined McLaren from Renault for the 2019 season and he has admitted that he had "good feelings" upon completing the move to the Woking-based team after previously being at Toro Rosso.
The Spaniard enjoyed a positive season, finishing sixth in the constructors' standings, becoming the first driver to do so from a team outside the top three since Fernando Alonso in 2012.
"I had good feelings when I moved to McLaren although things didn't look very promising at the end of 2018," Sainz told the Offical F1 Website.
"I had several conversations with the engineers, with Zak [Brown] and the others and the project itself gave me only positive vibrations.
"I don't know if this has anything to do with the good results but those good vibrations translated very quickly into results and a change of approach by McLaren, a great change in the structure of the team".
