Vettel admits he's against the restriction of changing helmets
- Tom Mason
Sebastian Vettel feels that the restriction of not being able to change the helmet's design more than once in a single race isn't fair on the drivers. For five seasons now, drivers the FIA have said that drivers have to keep their helmets similar throughout the year, except one race.
"Well, I change it [the design of his helmet] anyway, so ... It's our helmet and we should have the freedom to do what we want, so I think the rule is important, Vettel told Motorsport.com.
"We have very little room to express ourselves and the helmet is probably the only place where we can. If people like it, great, if they don't like it, well ... it's not their helmet.
"So I think we should be able to decide in what way and what colour our helmet is."
In recent times, it's been discovered that the likes of Max Verstappen have been able to make more than one change this season as he didn't ask the FIA for permission.
