Horner gives his thoughts on 2021 regulations
Thursday was a historic day for Formula 1 as the 2021 regulation changes were confirmed at long last. Christian Horner has given his thoughts on the changes made and he believes there are positives and negatives to the new rules.
The FIA unveiled the latest rule set on Thursday with the aim of making racing more interesting and overtaking easier the main focus for the sport. A budget cap and a new aerodynamic setup are the biggest talking points from the changes which are Liberty Media's first real chance to make their mark on the pinnacle of motorsport.
Horner has mixed feelings about the new changes for the 2021 season but wants to work collectively to get a good outcome.
“I think the concept is a good concept,” Horner told Sky.
“This high wake and trying to allow the drivers to follow closely I think is a good thing.
“The cars are going to be heavier, we need to get that down.
“But I think the principle of what they’re trying to do is absolutely right. It’s important now that we try to work collectively for whatever areas do need a bit of tidying up that we work together to achieve that for the benefit of the sport.”
