Norris looking for solid points after P8 qualifying
Lando Norris was delighted with his qualifying in Mexico as he will line up eighth on the grid in his hunt for further points. Norris had disappointment last time out in Japan, when he suffered brake issues, managing to finish only 11th following Renault's disqualification earlier this week. That ended his run of three consecutive top ten finishes, his best run in F1.
The 19-year old will line up right behind his teammate Carlos Sainz and is hoping to pick up a few positions and improve his championship position, with Racing Point's Sergio Perez just two points ahead as it stands.
Norris said: "I'm pretty happy with the outcome. I struggled this weekend in terms of just not having a great feeling in the car. Finished up P8 and I don't think it could have been much better than that with Carlos in P7.
"The team here in Mexico and the guys back at the factory have done a great job. Now we focus on tomorrow. My aim is for a good start and to have a clean race and try to grab some points."
