Haas insists Robert Kubica would get time inside the 2020 car if he joins the team

Robert Kubica announced prior to the Singapore Grand Prix that he would be leaving Williams after just a season back in Formula 1, but Haas want the experienced Polish driver as their simulation driver for next season.
Haas team principal Guenther Steiner revealed their interest in Kubica a while ago, and speaking about the potential move for the Williams driver, he said that he would receive in-car time if he did join the American side.
"We are speaking, speaking about a role in our team as a test (driver)," Steiner said to GPToday.net. "We need to develop the simulator still. We are at a decent point, but we need to make the next step as well.
"He's for sure one of the most qualified to do that, so that's why we're discussing."
Haas have their current simulation software created by a company called Dallara, but Steiner has revealed that the team are currently in the middle of making their own software for more reliable data.
"It's a part that we really need to improve on," Steiner continued. "Once we're in a position like the tyres this year, we can (not only) work on the race track where we know what's going to happen but also getting in the simulator to see how we can avoid these things."
