Porsche Supercup extends partnership with Formula 1 until at least 2022
It has been announced that Porsche Supercup will continue its partnership with Formula 1 for at least the next three years. Therefore the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and Porsche's national one-make cup series will run as a support race to Formula 1 until at least 2022.
The Formula 1 support race has been part of F1 Grand Prix weekends since 1993. The cars are all identical which means that the racing is close and competitive. It is a great series to run in parallel to F1 as it provides the fans at the circuit something a bit different.
Ross Brawn has stated in an official press release that he is happy to have the series as a part of the weekend for years to come.
"We are pleased to have extended our long-standing partnership with Porsche for a further three years. This one-make series provides some of the most spectacular racing of any series and contributes significantly to the show that is on offer a Grand Prix weekend," Brawn said.
