Kevin Magnussen left disappointed with Haas pace after Japanese Grand Prix
Kevin Magnussen is frustrated with the performance of the Haas car in Japan. Magnussen finished 17th after starting from the back of the grid as Haas' troubles seemingly will continue into the winter break.
Magnussen has just Lance Stroll, Romain Grosjean, Antonio Giovinazzi and the two Williams drivers below him in the F1 world championship. Going back 12 months and Haas were starting to challenge Renault for fourth place.
This season has been far from that performance 12 months ago as Magnussen sums up a "terrible" Japanese race.
“I started last and got up to P12, which I was fairly happy about, but after that it went south. It wasn’t terrible in terms of tires and pace, not like previous races at least," Magnussen said.
"If we’d hooked everything up, and if I’d started where I should have, and made as good a start as I did, then I’d obviously have been in a much better position. We just didn’t have the pace today.”
