Grosjean admits that the Japanese Grand Prix "wasn’t as good as we wanted"
- Tom Mason
Haas largely struggled during the race at the Japanese Grand Prix as they recorded 15th and 17th place finishes respectively. Romain Grosjean had qualified in 10th earlier in the day but a poor start cost him, dropping the Frenchman back five places in the final standings.
As a result of today, Haas remain ninth in the constructors' standings on 28 points, seven points behind Alfa Romeo.
“Well, it wasn’t as good as we wanted. The start was terrible, I don’t know why. I was behind Kevin (Magnussen) by turn one, so that shows how bad it was. From there it was very difficult to recover, " Grosjean said in Haas's race recap.
" We tried to push hard, we fitted the hard tire to do a one-stop race. Honestly, I had two good overtakes on Russell and Giovinazzi around the outside of turn one and two – both times.
Grosjean's difficult season continues as he goes without points again, he's only picked up eight with four races remaining on the calender.
