Charles Leclerc reflects on Russia: "We have to obey team orders"
It has been almost two weeks since Ferrari's team orders incident at the Russian Grand Prix and the press have asked Charles Leclerc about it at the Japanese Grand Prix. Leclerc believes that there was a misunderstanding and Ferrari will ensure the confusion doesn't happen again.
At the race in Sochi Sebastian Vettel overtook Leclerc but the Monégasque driver said that he was told to give the German a tow so that they could both get past Lewis Hamilton.
Vettel refused to give the place back to Leclerc but the team have had discussions and have said the confusion won't happen again.
"I think it is clear from the start of the season that we have to obey team orders," said the Ferrari driver.
“It is clear that the situation was not equally clear to both drivers. The most important thing is that we have discussed it and we ensure that this does not happen again."
Mattia Binotto will hope that he has sorted the situation and it will be interesting to see if the drivers just race each other now.
