Heavy rain expected for race weekend in Japan
- Tom Mason
Racing returns next weekend with the Japanese Grand Prix but looking at the forecast, the conditions are going to be tough for the drivers. Next Sunday in particular looks to be the worst, over 219mm of precipitation is expected to fall across the race day.
This comes after Japan tries to deal with the effect of a typhoon, something which could make the race a more interesting spectacle with a likely safety car due to the number of incidents which are likely in these conditions.
The weather could change within the week but with there being so much rain forecast the race will likely be impacted in some way.
The speed of the winds are expected to reach as high as 59 km /h, while downpours are forecast throughout the race.
