Formula 1 has confirmed its 2020 schedule for pre-season testing will be reduced to six days over two weeks as well as the removal of in-season testing completely from the calendar.

Pre-season testing has taken place over two four-day periods in two weeks at the Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya in Spain but with the increasing amount of Grand Prix weekends being added to the calendar it has been shortened.

The winter tests will take place in Barcelona again over two three-day slots on the 19-21 February and 26-28 February before the first race weekend in Australia on March 15.

With the removal of in season testing and the number of races increasing to 22 throughout 2020 teams will have to focus more on the use of testing parts in Friday practice on a Grand Prix weekend.
