Daniil Kvyat denies talks with Alfa Romeo
Daniil Kvyat has denied he is in talks with Alfa Romeo after earlier rumours of a switch. After the Russian Grand Prix, Helmut Marko dished out the praise for Kvyat and it seems as if a seat will be available at Toro Rosso should the Russian want to take it.
Marko said Kvyat has signed for Toro Rosso, who will be called Alpha Tauri in 2020. But Kvyat still has links with Ferrari and rumours in Sochi suggested the Russian could make a switch to Alfa Romeo during the winter.
When he lost out in F1 previously, Kvyat went to the Italian team and did some simulator work for them. Following a successful return to F1 which included a podium in Germany, Ferrari might be interested again.
Kvyat says that he doesn't know anything about it. “I know nothing at all about the situation at Alfa Romeo, I focus on my team. I have heard many stories, but I am happy with my position in Formula 1, also for 2020. I love Toro Rosso and want to continue driving for this team," the Russian told La Gazetta dello Sport.
