Charles Leclerc topped the timesheet during FP1 and will be hoping to have the same success during FP2. This mornings session was full of drama with Daniel Ricciardo crashing out on the final lap and a number of drivers running wide when under a heavy fuel load.

Renault will be busy after Ricciardo's crash and will be working on his car to ensure he can run in FP2. No relaxing lunch break for the French team!

Daniel Kvyat had an issue with his car and was forced to retire from FP1 at his home Grand Prix. It is though to be an issue with fuel pressure and Toro Rosso will be working hard to ensure the Russian can get some laps out in front of his fans.

Ferrari looked fast throughout the session and Leclerc finished the session on top with a 1m34.462s. Max Verstappen finished the session second with the two Mercedes in 4th and 5th. It is worth noting that Mercedes were on the medium tyre and the other teams set their fastest times on the soft.

The times were close at the top and things will be equally competitive in FP2.
