Valtteri Bottas: "It has normally been a good track for me"
Valtteri Bottas is desperate to perform at the Russian Grand Prix this weekend and will hope to emulate his result in 2017 when he won the race. The Mercedes driver played a support role to Lewis Hamilton but will want to prove that he is the top driver.
“I still have unfinished work in Sochi. It has normally been a good track for me, so I have to make sure that this is the case again," Bottas said in his prerace preview. “It could turn out well for Ferrari with all those straight parts on Sochi Autodrom, but we are going there with a good feeling and determination to finish better this time than last year and on another way."
There are a few little things that Bottas will alter to his car for the race.
"In such a short interval after Singapore you can't change much about the car, but there will be some things to achieve with the setup, as well as a few minor adjustments.
“In the end it's all about learning, forgetting and looking ahead to last weekend's lessons. That's about it for me. As soon as we are in Russia, it all starts again from scratch and I will strive to remember the good feelings of recent years so that I can get into a similar flow that I had there."
Bottas will hope to win the Russian Grand Prix and recreate some of the form he had at the start of the season.
