Red Bull team principal Christian Horner "can't see" why Haas chose to keep Romain Grosjean as one of their drivers for the 2020 season, with the decision being announced on Thursday morning.

Haas announced their driver line-up for 2020; with Grosjean once again partnering Kevin Magnussen for another season in Formula 1. The decision has certainly raised a few eyebrows.

Daniel Ricciardo had some very critical points to say about the French driver, and his old team boss Horner has echoed the Australian's thoughts: "I can't see why they kept him," Horner said to Sky Sports F1.

"However, it is their choice. They have all the information and data, but look at it from the outside. I have to say, it's an interesting decision."

This means it's even less likely for current Renault driver Nico Hulkenberg to get a seat in F1 next season, with the French team dropping the German driver for the 2020 season, with Esteban Ocon replacing him.

"(Hulkenberg is) A quality driver, it is strange he may have to look from the sidelines," Horner continued. "With regard to our own position; we continue to focus on our own pool of young talents. We need look no further than that, so it is hard to imagine that Nico is someone we will include in our thinking for next season."
