Channel 4 to keep live coverage of British Grand Prix
Channel 4 have agreed a new deal with Sky Sports which will see the British Grand Prix broadcast live on free to air television for at least the next two years. In the past Channel 4 had the rights to multiple free-to-air races until Sky’s exclusivity deal began at the start of the 2019 season.
Due to the exclusivity deal, Channel 4's only live broadcast was the British Grand Prix this year and the same deal has been done for the next few years.
Channel 4 will remain able to broadcast the highlights of all the other races.
Alex Mahon, the Channel 4 CEO, said: “Channel 4 has established itself as the go-to channel for free to air television coverage of Formula 1 and we’re thrilled that motorsport fans will be able to continue to enjoy the excitement of F1 through our highlights of all the races and live coverage of the British Grand Prix.”
This is good news for Formula 1 fans as they will be able to stay up to date with all the F1 action on normal TV for the next few years.
