Lewis Hamilton on the "challenge" of social media
Lewis Hamilton is more than just a Formula 1 driver. He is a celebrity, know worldwide and one of the most famous people on the planet. With this comes big responsibilities and with millions of followers, managing social media is one of these.
“It’s honestly a real challenge and something I can’t say that we do it the best," Hamilton said to Archie Hamilton's YouTube channel. "There are so many platforms. For us, there’s Facebook and Twitter and then it moved onto Instagram, and Instagram has been the one that’s continued to rise.
"Trying to find a real balance, particularly at the beginning; you see people constantly on their phones all day long, filming. I’ve been battling myself, I don’t want to do too much, but don’t want to do too little.
"How much do you show, how much don’t you show? Finding the right balance is always really difficult. I don’t want to just keep posting stuff for the sake of posting stuff.”
Hamilton uses his social media following for good, often posting about environmental issues and animal cruelty. It is interesting to see how much of a conscious effort is put into his accounts but hopefully, most of his time and energy is used focusing on racing!
