Fans react to Williams and Mercedes partnership contract extension
On Friday morning, Williams announced that they have agreed to a new long-term power unit partnership deal with Mercedes. The Williams car has been powered by a Mercedes engine since the start of the 2014 Formula 1 season and that will last for five years past 2021.
Despite having the F1 world champions engine, Williams have slumped to a new low over the last two seasons. During the current year, Williams have scored just one point which came through the help of other teams penalties. A lot of fans picked up on this and were pleased a new long-term deal was secure as consistency helps improvement.
Excellent, consistency is the key to constant improvement. Onwards and upwards back to where you belong!

While some other fans couldn't help but add in a cheeky dig.
5 more years with Mercedes engine so if their car crashes and can't fix the car in a short time, they can blow your engine

Hopefully you still exist by that time
